Privacy Policy

What this policy covers
This policy explains what information ClipSprint collects when you use the website and the app, how it is used and the choices you have. If you have a question that is not answered here, write to [email protected].
Information we collect
Account: your email address and, if you sign up with a password, a protected hash of it. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address and whether Google has verified it; we do not receive your Google password.
Content: the links of the videos you load, a copy of each of those videos kept on our servers so that clips can be made from it, the clips you export and the settings you chose for them, and the transcript of what is said in a clip or a video when you ask for its subtitles or for its best moments.
Waiting list: the email address you leave if you ask to be told when ClipSprint opens.
Payments: if you subscribe to a paid plan, the payment is taken by Polar, our payment provider. We receive which plan you chose, its status and its billing dates; your card details go to Polar and its payment processors, never to us. If you enter billing details for your invoices, we keep that name and address and send them to Polar, which issues the invoices.
Technical data: the address and browser details that every web request carries, kept in server logs to operate and protect the service.
How we use it
To provide the service: showing you your videos and clips, making the clips you ask for and applying the limits of your plan.
To keep the service secure and working, and to investigate problems and abuse.
To contact you about your account, and about the launch if you joined the waiting list. We do not send marketing email to people who did not ask for it and we do not sell personal information.
Cookies
ClipSprint uses the cookies it needs to work: one that keeps you signed in and one that protects forms against forgery.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. Its cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie notice; with them, Google can recognise your browser across visits. Until you accept, and if you decline, no analytics cookie is stored: Google only receives basic information about each page view, such as the page, the time, the type of browser and the IP address the request comes from, which is not linked to an identifier kept in your browser. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the site. We do not use advertising cookies.
Who processes the data for us
We rely on service providers to run ClipSprint: a hosting and storage provider for the servers and files, a content delivery and security provider in front of the site, Google, both when you choose to sign in with it and for the usage statistics described above, an email delivery service that sends account emails such as the activation link, Cloudflare Workers AI, which turns the audio of a clip or a video into text when you ask for subtitles or for its best moments and, for the best moments, reads that text to suggest them, Polar, which sells our paid plans as merchant of record and handles the payment, and an error-monitoring service that receives technical details of failures. They process data only to provide those services to us.
How long we keep it
A copy of a video you load is deleted automatically when it has not been used for a period of days, together with the transcript of its words if one was made. Clips are kept until you delete them or close your account. Account details are kept while the account exists. Server logs are kept for a limited time.
You can delete a clip, or remove a video together with its clips, at any time from the app.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of your information, for it to be corrected or for your account and its content to be deleted by writing to [email protected]. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under your local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell account holders by email or in the app.
