Put two people in one vertical clip
A podcast or an interview filmed wide shows two people side by side. Cropped to vertical, one of them is always cut out. Split screen keeps both: the host on the top half of the clip and the guest on the bottom half, each framed on their own.

Load the video and place the clip
Paste the URL or upload the file, and place the clip on the moment you want.
Choose Split screen
Under Framing, pick Split screen. The clip becomes vertical and two numbered areas appear on the video.
Place the two areas
Drag area 1 onto the first person and area 2 onto the second, and use their corner to make them bigger or smaller. The preview shows the vertical clip as it will be.
Export
The two areas are stacked, area 1 on top, in one 9:16 clip, ready for Shorts, TikTok and Reels.
Nothing stretched
Each half of a vertical clip has the shape of 9 by 8, almost square: 1080 by 960 pixels at 1080p. Each area keeps exactly that shape on the original video, so the people in it are never squeezed or stretched, whatever size you give it.
Each person framed on their own
The two areas are independent: one can be closer than the other, they can overlap or sit on opposite sides of the picture. Each stays inside the video, as in the exported clip.
With the rest of the editor
Colour filters, texts, emojis and subtitles go on top of the split clip in the Clip Editor, and blurred areas hide what should stay private in the original picture before it is split.
With the best moments
On Pro and Max, when AI finds a moment with two people in it, choosing Split screen puts one person in each area, ready to export several moments at once.
Questions
Which plans have split screen?
The paid plans: Starter, Pro and Max. On Free it is shown locked.
Can I use it for square or wide clips?
No. Two wide areas stacked make a vertical clip, so split screen always exports in 9:16.
Can the areas move during the clip?
No. Each area keeps its place for the whole clip. To follow someone who moves, use Crop to fill with a moving frame instead.
